  • Favorite thing about De Pere: Great place to live and raise a family. Whether you have lived in De Pere your whole life or are new to the area, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Great community spirit and a great vibe that continues to develop throughout the city.

  • Passionate about: Family, learning, growing, trying new things, and visiting new places. Trying to find and encourage “good” in people, conversations, and attitudes.

  • Passionate about: Pursuit of education in all forms; helping friends and family cultivate their inner stylist/interior design skills; staying active; enjoying good food and dark beers; appreciating and supporting family.
  • Favorite thing about De Pere: Downtown’s historic buildings and homes; the eclectic mix of restaurants, retail shops and small businesses; having the Riverwalk, Voyageur Park and Fox River Trail as my backyard!

  • Favorite thing about De Pere: Great small town feel within a bigger metro area. Growing up in such a small community that you know just about everyone.

  • Actively involved in: Court Appointed Special Advocate, Power of the Purse Committee, Girlfriends Event Committee, Leadership Green Bay Graduate, Small Group Mentor, Young Professional Advisory Council, Management Women
  • Passionate about: Traveling and exploring new cities and countries. Biking, hiking, cross country skiing, and hot yoga. Being an active part of the community, attending many events, connecting others with resources, and networking.
  • Favorite thing about De Pere: The quaintness! Active community members and businesses that want to genuinely support the district to create growth and opportunity for everyone.

Peter Schleinz

  • Senior Planner and Zoning Administration at the City of De Pere Development Services Department
  • Hometown: Antigo, Wisconsin
  • Previously involved in: Cream City Foundation, Milwaukee LGBT Community Center
  • Actively involved in: Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Member and Mentor for Challenge Party (a Milwaukee based group that raises funds once a year for LGBT related non-profits) Holton Street Clinic (Milwaukee based STD clinic that provides services with a focus on African American demographics).
  • Passionate about: Finding communities that are designed in a way that visitors do not need a car, dining at funky, hip new places that are in old renovated buildings, seeing people get excited when they realize something was in their neighborhood that they never realized existed, the preservation and restoration of natural resources, waterways, and wetlands, “planning” to find the balance between the natural and build world.
  • Favorite thing about De Pere: Downtown De Pere has all the necessary features of a beautiful urban main street that has not yet been perfected. Residential De Pere has very new and very old housing with people that compliment the downtown in very different ways. The business parks are well laid out and nice looking. The city is so easy to get into when traveling from the freeway interstate systems.

  • Passionate about: The visual and performing arts, family, education, being part of a creative team of ‘doers’, Packers Football, and traveling.
  • Favorite thing about De Pere: Friendly and connected community. There is a trend toward business growth and a creative energy that is evident. De Pere is welcoming and focused on family values, history and traditions. Wonderful blend of nature, great schools, shops and businesses.

  • Actively involved in: St. John Homeless Shelter, Boys and Girls Clubs of Green Bay, Brown County Correctional Facility, 22 Life Church services weekly, Eye Heart World financial and volunteer support, Colten’s Cure, Associated Bank Diversity and Inclusion partner.
  • Passionate about: Designing life-giving cultures, spaces, and businesses in a joyful, whimsical way. Leaving people feeling better about life and themselves after interacting.
  • Favorite thing about De Pere: The quaint feel and the historical beauty. Being on the river and hugging each shore with the urban benefits of such a well-rounded community.

  • Previously involved in Arts Wisconsin, served as regional captain for Northeastern Wisconsin; member of downtown Green Bay public art committee; active with Dickinson PTO; member of YOU Magazine advisory board; former executive secretary and board treasurer of Wisconsin Festivals and Events Association; former Board member of Olde Main and Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
