“Knowing how to cook” begins with essential skills- from there- you build on your knowledge forever! This all day workshop will tackle the basics- meal planning, prep, and shopping; sanitation; timing different dishes, building the prefect pantry & pantry meals; and the building blocks of a perfect kitchen. It will be packed with hands on cooking, as well- Roasting (chicken, veggies, potatoes); Eggs (scrambled, steamed, quiche and frittata); Pasta (one hot and one cold dish); Produce (prepping, storing, dressings).
Students will learn what to do with leftovers and how to use up ingredients avoiding waste and making meal time easier. Each student will leave with recipes, but more importantly- the skills to know how to turn fresh healthy ingredients into a meal. In addition to printed recipes, students will receive printed reference materials to guide them in the kitchen. Naturally, we will eat and one hour of the day will be used for various breaks.
Since so much food will be prepared, students will take food to enjoy at home. Tuition for this class also includes a personal one hour follow up with Bridgett- you will schedule a time to come back to 416 with any questions or challenges and Bridgett will help you to work through them! Space is limited to 6 students to ensure an immersive cooking experience. Aprons are available for use during the class. No refunds will be given for cooking workshops. Please feel free to call Bridgett directly with any questions about the workshop 920.445.1489
