Tour De Pere 2024 hits the streets of downtown De Pere on Monday, June 17! We’ve answered some frequently asked questions so you know everything you need to for this awesome event.
What is Tour De Pere?
Tour De Pere, a competitive bicycle criterium, is part of Tour of America’s Dairyland’s (ToAD) eleven consecutive day series. Each day of the Tour is held in different communities throughout southeast and northeast Wisconsin. ToAD is the largest competitive road cycling series in the U.S. and has become one of the most popular race series internationally, earning an outstanding participant and fan experience.
Why is the event being held on a Monday?
Tour De Pere is the fifth stop on ToAD’s 11 day racing series. Due to a rare opening in ToAD’s schedule last year, downtown De Pere was lucky to become a host city.
What is a criterium race?
Criterium bicycle racing is a short (1 mile) lapped course race, making it an ideal and exciting spectator sport. Racers, often on teams, hit speeds exceeding 35 mph in a tight pack as they pedal laps through downtown streets. There is a lot of strategy, as they work together to help each other and position for huge sprints and exciting wins. ToAD attracts top talent from across the globe, including national and world champions, and Olympic cyclists.
What time is the event?
Tour De Pere begins at 11:00 am. Races take place from 11:30 am until 8:15 pm. The event ends at 9:00 pm. Visit our Tour De Pere event page for a full race schedule.

– Broadway from the roundabout to William St
– William St from Broadway to Front St
– Front St from William St to the Claude Allouez Bridge
– James St from Broadway to Wisconsin St
Where can I park?
Free public parking is available on the streets and in parking lots around the course. Please visit our Tour De Pere event page to view the parking map.
Why are the races downtown?
All ToAD races are held in downtown communities which creates a unique experience for racers and attendees alike. The goal of this signature event is to attract residents and visitors to our vibrant downtown annually.
What is the community hour?
The community hour is an opportunity for community members to race on the same course as the pros! From 6:00 – 7:00 pm, we are bringing back the Tour De Pere Kids’ Race and the Fat Tire Race. Registration for both races are now open.

Will there be food and drinks?
We will be bringing in two food trucks, El Bistro Taco and The Wandering Table, to serve up some delicious eats during the event. Delights Bakery & Café will be on-site and ready to serve you as well. We will also have a beer tent set up for all of your cold beverage needs.
We encourage attendees to visit the downtown bars and restaurants in and around the course throughout the day.
What else is there to do besides watch the races?
In addition to the exhilarating races happening all day, there will be a block party within the course. Attendees can enjoy live music performances, face painting, vendors, demos, food and drinks, and more.
Is there a cost to attend?
There is no cost to attend Tour De Pere. This is a free family-friendly event. Bring the whole family and enjoy this exciting day!
