Interlaced

Artists: From Sweden, Funny Livdotter and Emilie Rygfelt Wilander, and residents of De Pere.

Volunteers helped paint a mural designed by two artists from De Pere’s sister city Åmal, Sweden. They came to De Pere to represent the cities’ partnership visually with the mural, Interlaced. The background is a mixture of watery shades of blue and green to represent the integral connection to water both cities share. A bright pink twisted braid was then painted on top to symbolize the strength of the community, as well as the collaboration among the two cities. The mural serves as visual reminder of the cohesion of the community of De Pere as well as the relationship between the sister cities.
